2026 Virginia Lumber Cup Winners
Celebrating regional champions, division winners, and the People's Choice selection from the first statewide student woodworking challenge.
The 2026 Virginia Lumber Cup brought together middle school and high school students from across the Commonwealth to create original woodworking projects from Virginia hardwood spacer-stick material.
These winners represent craftsmanship, creativity, practical design, and community support from schools, instructors, judges, sponsors, and voters across Virginia.

Winning Projects at the 2026 State Fair of Virginia
Winning Virginia Lumber Cup teams will be invited to display their projects at the 2026 State Fair of Virginia, held September 25 through October 4 at The Meadow Event Park in Doswell, Virginia.
Visitors will be able to see the winning student-built projects in person and celebrate the craftsmanship, creativity, and Virginia hardwood materials behind this year's entries.
How Grading Was Conducted
The Virginia Lumber Cup used the published competition rubric provided through the State Fair of Virginia resources and shared with participating schools.
The rubric scored projects across creativity and originality, craftsmanship and skill, functionality and usability, use of materials, and presentation and overall impression, with bonus opportunities noted in the published rubric.
- Regional Winners Regional winners were chosen by local judges from the community within the applicable region or combined region.
- Division Winners Senior and Junior Division winners were judged separately and independently by a panel from The Turman Group.
- People's Choice The People's Choice Award was chosen solely by public vote during the two-week polling window.
